FEE: This class is being offered at a "sliding-scale" fee ranging from $160-$220 (all supplies included). 

Add life to your drawings with color! In this class, students will learn fundamentals of drawing such as proportion, composition, value and more; and explore color theory as they incorporate color into the drawing process. Instructor and artist Paul Johnson will lead students through exercises and offer tips, techniques, and guidance as they create completed works of art using materials such as colored pencil and pastels. This class is for beginners and intermediate artists who want to learn foundational tools and further their understanding of color to take their drawings to the next level!

Instructor: Paul Johnson, a resident of Pelican Rapids, taught for over 20 years as Communication Art and Design instructor at Alexandria Technical & Community College. He is the creator of Paul Johnson Design & Illustration, and is the Concordia Christmas Concert muralist, just completing his 15th mural.

Class Dates (All Saturdays):

  • April 20th - 2:00pm-6:00pm

  • April 27th - 2:00pm-5:30pm

  • May 4th - 2:00pm-5:30pm

  • May 11th - 2:00pm-5:30pm

  • May 18th - 2:00pm-5:30pm

*Registration Fee: This class is being offered at a "sliding-scale" fee ranging from $160-$220 (all supplies included). 

Location: Class will take place in the ADA accessible classroom located in the lower level at Kaddatz Galleries (111 W. Lincoln Ave. Fergus Falls, MN 56537).

Kaddatz Galleries is offering our adult art classes at a sliding scale fee to allow individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds access to creative education, fostering inclusivity and equitable opportunity for artistic expression. 

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.​ The true cost of this class without support from grant funding would be $300 per student.
