The Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) is pleased to announce the opening date and closing reception of the 2025 6A High School Art Competition Exhibition. This annual juried visual arts exhibition highlights the outstanding creativity and artistic achievements of high school students competing in the Minnesota State High School League Section 6A South.
The exhibition opens Monday, March 31, 2025 in the LRAC Main Gallery, Historic River Inn Building, 133 S. Mill St., Fergus Falls, MN. A Closing Public Reception will be open to the public on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to meet the student artists and their teachers, view their artwork, and celebrate their accomplishments.
This annual exhibition at the LRAC Gallery, is juried by LRAC Gallery Curator, Naomi RaMona Schliesman, and it features student work in a variety of categories, including:

• Painting
• Sculpture
• Digital Photography
• Fiber Art
• Computer-Based Artwork
• Printmaking
• Ceramics
• 2D Mixed Media
• Collage
• Graphic Design
The 6A High School Art Competition Exhibition provides emerging young artists an opportunity to publicly exhibit their work and gain recognition for their creative talents. Students advance from regional competitions to the state level, where entries are evaluated on both artistic quality and the strength of their artist statements. The schools that are in the Section 6A South competing districts: Brandon-Evansville, Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, Minnewaska, Parkers Prairie, West Central Area, Morris, Osakis and Underwood.
LRAC is honored to support these talented young artists and encourages the public to experience this inspiring showcase of art from our youth across the region. The community is invited to visit the gallery during regular hours and attend the Closing Reception to celebrate the achievements of these emerging artists and the awards; Best in Show, 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place will announced at that Closing Reception by Executive Director of LRAC, Tim Wollenzien.
