Evansville Arts Coalition is having a birthday party, and we’re celebrating it with poetry!

Evansville Arts Coalition (EAC) was incorporated as a nonprofit in 1996, and in April of that year we held our first Poetry Night.  People that came that evening were surprised and pleased to share their favorite poems or read something they had written.  Thus began an annual tradition that continued for 30 years (except in 2020), making it one of the longest-running literary events in west central Minnesota. 

We’re doing it again this year, and we’ll be doing it with birthday cake!  People of all ages are welcome; we have had readers from ages 6 to 95.  We have had published poets and poetasters alike – all are welcome and enjoy the friendly audience.

If you write poetry, or just enjoy listening, we invite you to come for an evening of fun at Evansville Art Center, 111 Main Street, Evansville on Thursday, April 24.  Doors open for seating at 6:30pm, and reading will start at 7:00pm.   This is a free event.
