Art Club for Grown-Ups is the perfect way for adults to dip their toe into the world of art and build their knowledge of different mediums and artists! Each of the 4 classes covers a different project based off an artist’s work and will have you leaving inspired and energized to make more! All materials included and pre-registration is required.
April 8th: Acrylic Painting: Monet’s Waterlilies
This class will focus on Impressionist techniques inspired by Claude Monet. Participants will learn how to create soft, atmospheric landscapes of Monet's pond with waterlilies using acrylics, emphasizing light, movement, and color blending.
April 15th: Collage: Inspired by Georges Braque’s Birds
This class will introduce participants to collage techniques while exploring the work of Georges Braque, a co-founder of Cubism known for his elegant bird motifs. Participants will create a Cubist-inspired bird collage, using layered paper, textures, and bold shapes to capture movement and abstraction.
April 22nd: Watercolor: Landscapes Inspired by John Constable
This class will focus on creating atmospheric watercolor landscapes in the style of John Constable, a Romantic-era artist known for his dramatic skies, rich natural tones, and expressive brushwork. Participants will learn to paint lush countryside scenes, capturing light, depth, and movement in nature using watercolor techniques.
April 29th: Oil Pastel: Portraits Inspired by André Derain & Fauvism
In this session, participants will create bold, expressive portraits inspired by André Derain and the Fauvist movement. They will explore vivid, non-traditional colors, strong outlines, and energetic mark-making, capturing the essence of a subject rather than realistic details.
