The film maker, Ferolyn Angell, is the daughter of a refugee. She is a Dance artist who has lived in West Central Minnesota since 1984. Her mother was forced to flee Germany in 1939 and was never able to return to her home. As a Dance artist Ferolyn has taken up the universal story of forced migration in the film “crossings....moves”. The film is the result of a cross Atlantic collaboration and performances that took place in her mother's home town of Schwedt, Germany. During the summer of 2023, a group of artists, refugees and immigrants came together to create an event using dance, music and theater to share stories about forced migration.
Enjoy a screening of the film as well as a talk-back led by Ferolyn afterwards. There will be refreshments available.
